2-Year Old Class

2-Year Old Class

Requirements: 30-36 months, self-feeding, and able to separate from parents (or working through it). We provide morning and afternoon snack, and provide help with early potty training skills.

As children are getting prepared for more experiences, we provide a loving, nurturing environment that will ease them into the transition.

At Kinder Hills Preschool your child’s curiosity will be piqued through opportunities to play, create, and explore both inside the classroom and outside in our large playground. Your child will be engaged in activities that promote language and literacy development.

Children in our two-year old program continue to expand their vocabulary and learn to communicate with their peers. Through observation, routine, play, and several activities, they learn to engage with one-another, make friends, and get along with others.

Our 2s Class fuels early learning through fun, focusing on:

  • Increased vocabulary and socialization with their peers
  • Math and Science Exploration through hands-on experiments
  • Music and Art Appreciation through song and dance
  • Increased phonemic awareness through the Zoo Phonics curriculum
  • Social and emotional development through Biblical Character traits (patience, kindness, self-control, etc).

Our 2s Class learning environment features specially designed learning centers to encourage bright young minds to develop important skills:

  • Sensory Station: where your child can develop fine motor skills and explore fun different materials.
  • Blocks Station: where your child can practice early stem skills, stacking and building.
  • Play House: where your child can step through dramatic play with peers.
  • Book Station: where your child can develop early literacy skills and interests
  • Arts Station: where your toddler can experiment with creative expression using a variety of different materials and mediums.

Our 2s students are guided by teachers throughout each step in their learning journey. By engaging in one-on-one skill building with their teacher, they can develop new skills in a supported way, like using scissors and tracing.

And perhaps our little student’s favorite part of our classroom is our class mascot Biscuit. Each child can take Biscuit home for a week. This experience lets young children bridge the gap between home and their classroom. We use this as a way to further develop their storytelling and recollection skills. The children will often talk about what Biscuit has done during the week with their friends, joyfully.

Ms. Whitney Eitzen

I started working with children 11 years ago at a preschool in the East Bay. My experience ranges from teaching preschoolers in the classroom to overseas missionary work with babies and toddlers. I’ve been at Kimber Hills Preschool since August 2019. I have my bachelor’s from Cal State East Bay in Human Development with an emphasis on Early Childhood Development. In my free time I like to watch movies and tv shows (NCIS and Blue Bloods!), and bake.

2-Year Old Class

2.5-3.0 years old

We are beginning to prepare the children for their first few steps away from parents. Their curiosity will be inspired through opportunities to play, create, and explore both inside and outside. We understand that children potty train at their own pace, so you and your child’s teacher will work together to provide a great space for success.
