Covid-19 FAQs

COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions

For your convenience, we have provided answers to the most frequently asked questions surrounding COVID-19 and the response from Kimber Hills Preschool.

Yes, we are open but with temporarily reduced hours. Our current hours of operation are 8:30am-4:30pm.

The health and safety of our children, their families and the staff is our top priority. We are committing to abide reasonably with the CDC recommendations for personal health and sanitizing. See the CDC guidelines on cleaning and disinfecting to learn more.

Preventative measures we are committing to abide by are, but not limited to:

  • Classes consisting of no more than 10 children in the same classroom each day. The children will not share rooms or mix/co-mingle
  • Teachers will remain with one class
  • All staff will practice appropriate sanitary and respiratory etiquette
  • Only children and staff will be permitted in the facility
  • All staff will wear masks when social distancing is not possible
  • Parents and other family members will not be permitted inside the facility at this time
  • Any classroom visits should be as brief as possible

Each day, we will:

  • Clean and disinfect all tables, counters, doorknobs, light switches, sinks/faucets, and other high touch surfaces
  • Disinfect all classroom toys
  • Ensure all sanitary materials are restocked and soap, paper towels and toilet paper dispensers are full

In the classroom:

  • Sensory activities (water/sand/playdough) will be offered and stored for individual child use (no sharing)
  • Activities will not require close physical contact between children
  • We will increase the distance between children and minimize time standing in lines
  • Children will nap at a minimum of 6 feet apart

Daily health check for every staff/child upon arrival:

  • Using a no touch thermometer, each staff and child’s temperature will be taken upon arrival
  • If any staff member, visitor, or child is found to have a temperature of 100.0 degrees or higher, they will not be allowed to stay
  • If a child shows symptoms of illness (fever, cough, congestion or a runny nose) we will remove the child from the group and isolate (with adult supervision)
  • If a child becomes ill, we will immediately contact parents or authorized person to pick up the child

Staff have significantly increased handwashing for themselves and the children. Soap, water, paper towels, and a minimum wash time of 20 seconds is required. Use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer may be used when traditional handwashing is not feasible.

Staff must be extremely aware and communicative about their own health. If a staff member has any symptoms of a contagious disease/COVID-19, they must report to the director immediately. Staff must stay home for 14 days and be symptom free OR have a doctor’s note stating they are not contagious. Additionally, upon arrival, staff must take their temperature and record it. ANY PERSON with a temperature above 100.0 degrees will not be permitted to stay/work at Kimber Hills Preschool until fully recovered. Staff will also be required to answer a series of wellness questions prior to starting their work shift.

If a child becomes ill at school, the child will be isolated until a parent or authorized person picks them up. Children must be symptom free for 24 hours WITHOUT medication or have a doctor’s note.

Toys from home will not be permitted. However, one comfort item may be stored with your child’s bedding for nap. This comfort item must remain at school all week.

We encourage self-reporting to the director as this is critical for the safety of our school family. In the event of a confirmed case of COVID-19, we will:

  • Advise person to self-quarantine for 14 days and notify their doctor
  • Communicate to preschool families and staff immediately. An exposure notice would also be sent out per standard protocol
  • Provide a pastor or an elder for shepherding, care, or meeting any specific support needs
  • Ensure deep cleaning and disinfection of the classroom before any children return

Along with Fremont Community Church leadership, we are closely monitoring the guidelines set forth by the CDC and local agencies to make the best and safest decisions for our families and communities.

COVID-19 Warning

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By attending Kimber Hills Preschool, you voluntarily assume all risks related to expose to COVID-19. Help keep each other healthy.
